PLAY the Plantation Course

In just a few days, Kapalua will welcome golf's greatest players for the PGA Tour's Sentry Tournament of Champions.

While the golf's superheroes will play the course from January 3-7, 2018, the Plantation Course is open to mere mortals to play as well.

Both the Plantation Course and the much loved Kapalua Bay Course are open to the public.  Managed by Troon Golf, reservations to play the courses can be booked by calling 808-669-8044 or 877-527-2582.

Tomorrow, Friday, December 29, 2017 is last day of play for the course prior to the tournament, with limited tee times from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The course closes to then prepare for the tournament, reopening to the public Monday, January 8, 2018.  The course is…

The Sentry Tournament of Champions:
The Plantation Course, Kapalua, Maui January 3-7, 2018 

Each year, Maui welcomes the PGA Tour's best players in an invitation only Tournament of Champions. This year, the field includes a mix of familiar and new faces to the Plantation Course.

The Sentry TOC opens the calendar year for the PGA Tour on one of Hawaii's most picturesque and challenging courses.  Past winners who have qualified for this year's field include Justin Thomas, Jordan Speith, and Dustin Johnson.  While the field won't be announced until December 29th, many are looking forward to watching newcomers such as Xander Schauffele, Rookie of the Year, Cam Smith, and Kevin Kisner take on the challenge of the TOC.

Maui Real Estate Statistics: July, 2017

The Realtor's Association of Maui has released it's monthly report on Maui's real estate statistics for July 2017.   

While there are fewer properties to sell when compared with 2016 and inventory is down, the Median Sales Price is up.  For more information read: Maui Real Estate Statistics.

The resort market trends are also showing an upward trajectory, particularly condos in the resort areas of Wailea, Makena and Kapalua.  Condo and home sales are down in Kaanapali.  Home sales are also down in Kapalua, while up in Wailea.  Though it should be noted--with such a small sampling, the statistics can vary widely at any given time.

A Look at the Resort Markets as compared with the overall Maui Real Estate Market.

Maui's Resort Markets of Kaanapali, Kapalua, Wailea 

January 1-July 31, 2017 vs. January 1- July 31, 2016

Comparing the YTD sales in the resort markets with the same period in 2016, we are seeing more condo sales in Kapalua and Wailea and Makena, while in Kaanpali, condo sales is down. Inventory is increasing in the condo markets, with the exception of Wailea, which has an absorption rate of just 9.2 months.  Part of the substantial growth in the Kapalua Condominium Market can be attributed to sales at the Montage Residences Kapalua Bay with 3 sales ranging from $3.795-$6.475M (which is the highest condominium sale on record for 2017 on Maui), and Coconut Grove…
