Who you work with Matters
Buying or selling real estate on Maui is not the same as buying or selling property anywhere else.
Maui is a small island with layered histories, complex land ownership patterns, evolving county regulations, and deeply rooted community relationships. Understanding the market here requires more than MLS access — it requires lived experience.
As a fifth-generation Kamaʻāina, I don’t just work on Maui. I am from Maui.
I grew up Upcountry, understand the cultural fabric of our island communities, and began my real estate career in 1997. I have witnessed the island’s evolution, market cycles, development changes, and policy shifts firsthand. I understand which neighborhoods are legacy agricultural lands, which were originally leasehold, which are CPRs, which allow short-term rentals — and which may be impacted by future legislation.
Local Knowledge Is Not a Marketing Phrase
Working with someone who grew up on Maui and has spent a lifetime in real estate means:
-
Insight into micro-neighborhood dynamics
-
Awareness of pending county legislation
-
Deep relationships within escrow, title, AOAO boards, and local professionals
-
An understanding of community sentiment that never shows up in data
-
Strategic guidance on long-term value preservation
Relationships Matter on an Island
Maui is relationship-driven. Many of the finest properties trade quietly before they ever reach the public market. Negotiations are often influenced by long-standing connections and reputation.
After nearly three decades in West Maui real estate — including my years at Kapalua Realty and now with Island Sotheby’s International Realty — I bring both global luxury marketing reach and hyper-local experience.
This Is More Than a Transaction
When you purchase property on Maui, you are entering a community. There are environmental sensitivities, cultural considerations, and responsibilities that come with ownership here.
Being from Maui allows me to guide clients with awareness and respect — ensuring not just a successful purchase, but a deeper understanding and integration into the island lifestyle.
Data-Driven. Globally Connected. Deeply Local.
-
Advanced market analytics and pricing strategy
-
Global exposure through Sotheby’s International Realty
-
Nearly 30 years of West Maui transactional experience
-
Generational local knowledge
The result is representation that is strategic, informed, and grounded in aloha.
