I hope this finds you well and enjoying a beautiful spring season. It has been absolutely gorgeous here--sunny and clear, with spectacular whale watching!
In real estate news, the sales event for the Residential Suites at the Ritz-Carlton will be held on March 15, 2008. The hotel has undergone a $130 million dollar renovation, and will offer 107 whole ownership, one and two bedroom condominium suites for sale. Pricing ranges from $895,000-$6,400,000, and a capital investment group has pre-selected approximately one third of the units. There is continued activity at the Residences at Kapalua Bay, with two more units reserved this past month. The high end market has fared well, with a record sale at Pineapple Hill Estates and another home sold at the Plantation Estates. There are several new listings at all price points across the market, and some great values out there.
In resort news, Kapalua has announced that the first phase of the Kapalua Coastal Trail has begun. This portion of the trail will establish a .75 mile path from Kapalua Bay to Oneloa Bay. Plans call to complete the trail system in 2009, with a 3.5 mile coastal trail linking the resort to several beaches and recreation areas. The coastal trail is part of Kapalua's vision to create approximately 100 miles of hiking, biking and walking trails throughout the 23,000 acre resort, while protecting and showcasing the surrounding environs.
On a personal note, I am excited to share the news that my mother, Sarah Howard, who took up painting just two years ago, was selected to be one of the artists represented at Art Maui. This is the 30th Anniversary of Art Maui, a juried event which showcases local artists. Held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, this is a free exhibition which will run from now until April 6, 2008. If you are on island, I hope you will stop by to see the show. The Villas at Royal Lahaina is a new project at a fantastic beach, Kekaa, the other side of Kaanapali's famous black rock.
